I too have a blog for my kids and write it from their perspective. Also done, as previous poster mentioned, for my long-distance family and friends. I certainly don't expect people who don't know our family to find it even remotely interesting, but there's been more people reading it than I expected (co-workers, friends of friends).

Yeah, at some point when they're older I will stop putting words in their mouths, but for now, it's my version of a journal. I'm not a scrapbooker, I can't keep up with my baby books, but this is a way for me to jot down tidbits about their days and the silly things they do.

Only the person writing the note should sign. There is etiquette involved in thank you notes. Last I checked Emily Post doesn’t cover blog narration. Anyway - I use a blog format for my family and friends to see pictures of my child. I find it less intrusive than sending millions of photos and pushing my baby’s images on people. So, to be considerate of others, I just post them online in blog format - usually with something from my baby's perspective to keep things interesting and add a little explanation. The narration is more like a little speaker bubble as in a comic strip. I don't use my blog to provide social commentary or give advice - it is more of a basic photo-journal or our comings - and goings. I see nothing wrong with it and actually know of 2 others that do the same thing.

Of course I don’t advertise the blog’s existence nor think anyone would be interested in it besides a few close friends/family.

--just another perspective!
