Since the It’s a Small World boat ride keeps sinking under the increasing weight of the theme park’s visitors, engineers have

re: Disney Small World Ride Sinking Under Weight of Fat People

Maelstrom is the ride pictured. lol Anyway, I visited DisneyWorld last year after not visiting for about 7 years. The number of ECV's (motorized chairs) have increased exponentially since my last visit. The most frequent user: the morbidly obese. I even saw one entire family riding (making everyone move out of their way) while smoking and eating ice cream. Also, many rides don't stop, even while boarding. BUT, if an ECV user wants to get on, the ENTIRE RIDE has to stop to let them board. That means as you're floating thru Neverland, all of the sudden: HALT. This would be fine if for most of the time it wasn't for the 300+ lb'er who I saw pull up to the handicap entrance as I was boarding. It's very taboo to mention, as I soon found out while complaining on a Disney message board. "The invisible diseases and problems" as many morbidly obese people like to cry out, "that you can't see!" Oh, I see alright. Of course, there are people there using these ECVs as a means to get around the parks because of their disabilities, but don't whine to me if your disabled bad knees and ankles are from overstuffing yourself at every given chance. Disney makes it so convenient and easy for people with disabilities to make it around their parks that they should be commended, but guess who takes advantage of the kindness. DisneyWorld and Disneyland have become a playground for the morbidly obese.
