Last I noticed, a couple of Dora dil....Aquapets were still on eBay. The Boots version is eye catching as well.

i, too, have that hate on for character toys but my son, alas and alack, has fallen head-over-heels for dora. last weekend he followed a little girl w/ a brunette bob all over the playground murmuring "boopdor" (or 'boots, dora' in the vernacular). Sooo embarassing- wish i had the aquapet to help me relax! friggin' hysterical.

I can't even begin to tell you how amazingly awesome that thing is. This brightened my whole day.

After searching the web, i finally found the company's site. Their "about us" bio states:

"We make innovative products that appeal to both parents and kids. Our products spark the imagination and provide positive experiences. We treat both girls and boys with respect."

I guess they take extra steps to "appeal" to parents.

Wow.

why is all the dora stuff pink?! i thought she was supposed to be this intrepid, sort of tomboyish, appeal-to-all kinda character.

Oh. My. God. My daughter's obsessed with Dora, and she has some pretty freaky and scary Dora toys -- but that Aquapet is just too strange for words.

That 3-foot doll is my nightmare. And seriously: Why does Dora have such a huge, football-shaped head? All the other people characters have normal heads.
