Who does that? (Probably lots of people, but when she does it, its annoying.) All you need to know is "The View" and "Survivor" to know that this lady is an embarrassment, and not fit to distribute parenting tips. What I find most disingenuous about her comments is not what she says she did, but how she says it. The entire blog screams absentee parenting, so suddenly she's mother of the year because she takes her kid to the theater? Or is it that she has the perfect Marriage because they went and saw Rascal Flats? OR are we all really just so gushed up that she received the greatest gift? While our blogger may be a little over the top (Where else do you take the kids if not a Disney Musical) his indignation at the pure B.S. is 100% correctly directed at "Lissy". At least our blogger here doesn't pimp out his children.

As Brett Singer has two children according to the Babble bio, it's hard to understand how he could be so vicious about a mother of a newborn being pleased to have a little time out alone with her older child -- to announce that in order to have one on one time with her daughter she has to be in a dark room with many other people is both unreasonable and insulting.

I'm all for pointing out the absurdity in the world, but the only absurdity is why Babble allowed such a mean-spirited, uninformed, badly reasoned posting.

Come on, new blogger. Do better than this.

Awesome addition to the blogroll, Strollerderby. I'm guessing it will be best for both of us if I just ignore his posts from now on.

I went to a production of Othello, that my sister was in, with my son when he was 4 weeks old because I knew he would either be sleeping or nursing the whole time. He never made a peep, however I still got dirty looks on the way in because people assumed that he would be disruptive. Every child is different, but a parent knows if their child can be still and quiet for an extended period of time.

Who exactly is The Little Mermaid, the musical, pitched at if not small children? I imagine when her three year old wasn't in her lap, she was in her own seat. I've got to say, as a theatre professional, I urge you to take your children to the theatre. Perhaps Hamlet is inappropriate for a three year old, but Disney musicals? Have at it people. It'd be great if more people experienced the arts.
