Hold that thought. I read, with great interest, this article detailing your actions following the publication of a column by sophomore Megan Chase.
Opinions should always be allowed of everyone, and somebody who is not a Christian should have the same voice as those of us who call ourselves Christian. However, because I hold strong moral convictions, should I not have a voice? I am a very conservative Christian; who still has gay friends; however, I will never tell those friends, they are right in their lifestyle. There is a difference between loving somebody and accepting everything they do. Telling somebody they are morally wrong is not hating them. I can love and fully accept somebody without pretending to agree with what they believe. Do you really think I should change who I am so that those who have different convictions can remain the same? I am not willing to lose my convictions in order to be friends with anyone. It should work both ways.

You are right. Ms. Chase's article is a very well written article. I was very impressed. I graduated in 06 from Woodlan and I know that Dr. Yoder goes overboard from time to time. It appears to me that he did overstep his bounds in this case; however, do NOT put me and my other "closeminded, homophobe, ass-backward moralist" friends in the same stereotype as those who make a habit out of overstepping their bounds. It seems to me, you're commiting the same closeminded crime as Dr. Yoder.

I've only been in journalism for about 10 years, but isn't "lack of balance" what makes it an opinion piece?
