I fail to understand why she should pump, for centuries the wealthy had wet nurses. And I wonder if there would be any benefit in that whatsoever. How would they go about cleaning, nevermind sterilizing, bottles.

What she is doing is nothing short of true heroism.

Absolutely- I'd nurse them if I could. Pumping and donating is a good idea. It's too bad there isn't a program available or that, but I guess it would be a logistical nightmare to collect all of those small amounts from all over the place.

Yes, of course I would breastfeed them. Think of how comforting it would be to these poor babies, who may never see their own mothers again. Obviously, one woman can't provide all the nutrition for tons of children, but she can do so much to make them feel safe and loved.

I think I'd prefer to pump and donate if possible, but yes I'd definitely feed babies other than my own in this type of situation.
