OMG - you people are all nutz! Did anyone think for even a second that maybe this was actually just a funny joke? I think it's hilarious!! ROFL

I mean seriously this woman carried that child for 9 months - I sincerely doubt that she would part with it. And I am sure he didn't think they would get all this attention!

Does anyone on this planet have a sense of humor anymore? People - spend your time on something worthwhile - like taking care of your OWN kids! Let these folks get back to taking care of theirs! Quite frankly I am surprised the Vancouver police even have time to look at this type of stuff with all the evil pot being smoked out there!

As our friend George Carlin says - anything can be joked about - as long as you present it in the right way. Think about this...if this ad was posted on April fools day would it have even gotten noticed?

I agree with leahsmom completely. Regardless of the 'drugs', she is not expected to monitor her SO at all times. Thats absurd.

Also @ John Houston...why don't you shamelessly spam somewhere else! The least you could do is show us something comparable to CL-------> backpage.com <-------. Not all of us like to visit dead classified sites.

Anyway, not to get too OT and not to get all Jerry Springer on her but she needs to 'get rid of that man!!

I know this person. This was a joke, nothing more. Its a cute baby and their both good parents with the 3-month old. I trust him and her to look after my own when I need a sitter.

A lesson well learned on their part. Return theirl children.

If the father was living with the mother then the authorities are right to remove the child. Sorry, that is the law to safeguard the child. It is not just her baby but his as well. Personally I think it was for real since they needed drug money. I do nto buy the "Kidding" excuse no matter how dumb they are.

A couple in Pensacola were recently arrested after driving around for a coupel of hours approachign people to buy their small infant girl which they had in a carseat. They were intoxicated, too. Some men working a volunteer carwash called the cops. One of the young men said he was sorry for the little baby cause she had vomit all over her shirt. What a sweet guy! The cops took the baby and the couple said they were kidding. Witnesses said they approached a half dozen people offering to sell her for thirty bucks. Should they get her back?

I also agree with leahsmom here. It doesn't seem like we know enough to say the baby should be taken away from her parents, and the mother might not have even been involved. Think of your own child at 7 days old - can you imagine being separated from your newborn? That 7 day old baby knows her mom, and should probably be with her unless there is a very compelling reason to remove her.

I would love to see how some of the commenters would respond to a proposal that their children be taken away based on the actions of someone else, when they weren't aware of those actions in the first place? Because, you know, seven days post-partum, we were all monitoring the SO's internet usage with all that extra energy, right? Right?

At first, I thought Mr. Pete was simply playing hardball, but it's clear to me now that he never intended to sell me the child. I am, however, still willing to make a deal with him. Just to clarify, the mother says she had nothing to do with the ad and that she may not ever speak to the father again. It's unclear whether she knew that he was placing the ad or not.

I think both parents should lose the baby, if the mother knew he was doing this why didn't she have it stopped. It proves her irresponsible behaviour also. Both admit drug involvement, and chances are the mother will turn to drugs within a short time, putting that child in further danger, but of course our government has more respect for the drug addicts than they do for cripples in this world so these people will get their kid back

No. he has a three month old with someone else, so i doubt his committment to ANYONE much less the baby he tried to get rid of. It doesn't sound like a joke to me, it sounds like he put it up in all seriousness and tried to convince himself it was a joke and then if someone actually DID want the baby for that much he would take the money and run.

Sounds like a guy with a poorly developed sense of humor... that has rotted away with the years of drug use.
