Palm oil is the new biggie in regard to cookies. I believe Oreo and Hydrox both have it as an ingredient and the harvesting of it is destroying the habitat of the orangutan. Oh yeah, Girl Scout cookies have it, too.

It's always something.

We were pretty poor growing up, so we only had the cheap imitation Oreos. We used to call them Pooreos.

I always have associated Hydrox with being Kosher and that's why they will always occupy a special place in my heart even if Oreos have gone Kosher since. When I was a kid I had several Jewish friends who could eat Hydrox but not Oreos so we bought them quite often. Also, didn't DQ use Hydrox in their blizzards for a while? Non-dairy/non-lardy confections that they are??
