My son is 10 ½ months old and sleeps through the night pretty
consistently. We have a stable bedtime routine and he goes down pretty easily. We are able to put him in his crib and let him fall asleep on his own, usually around 7pm.
However, he still gets up once early in the morning for a feeding, usually between 4am and 5am. I change him (he's usually soaked) and put him back in his crib and he sleeps until 7am. This early feeding has become part of our routine, I fear, and I would like to have him sleep through it. Of course, my pediatrician has been telling me for months that he doesn't need this feeding but I still worry that he's uncomfortable or hungry. I have been comfortable until now keeping it going, as I believe it helps him sleep later in the morning (and helps the rest of the family (minus baby and me) sleep through the night), and our naps fall at convenient times as a result.
First, are early morning feedings normal for a 10-11 month old? Second, does anyone have any advice/tips for getting to sleep through it? This is a habit that I know it's time to break.
Thanks for any advice those of you have been through this can give me.
