    Apartment-hunting while knocked up

So I'm looking for a place for the Permanent Date and I to live.I'm pregnant for the first time,  due around the first of September.

I'm trying to judge apartments as potential homes for a pregnant lady/baby/toddler, but I'm really not sure what I should be looking for. I'm picturing myself lugging baby/stroller/diaper bag up and down each staircase, and I've realized that even a savings of $50 a month will come in very handy, but otherwise, I'm clueless. Any advice from seasoned urban parents on what to look for in a home?

(I'm in downtown Toronto, not NYC, so think more divided houses and fewer low-rises.)

I live in a walk-up. I find that since having the child, I don't really exercise a whole lot, and find that the stairs are a great source of exercise. That said, I looked at a few apartments at the top of four story brownstones, and those stairs were absolutely daunting. Good luck!
