Chris Rock could be Barack Obama's running mate

Barack Obama and Chris Rock think alike.

Last week, Barack Obama made a speech on Father's Day in which he discussed the rising rate of absent fathers, specifically in the African-American community. "Too many fathers…are…missing from too many lives and too many homes. They have abandoned their responsibilities, acting like boys instead of men."

When I heard this I said – hang on. That sounds familiar. Who said that before?

Oh! Chris Rock. In 1996.

According to Trey Ellis, Obama mentioned Rock's routine, "albeit cleaned up a lot." (I hope so!)

Video of Rock's bit and Obama's speech are below. But basically, here's the crux of it:

Barack Obama: Black men need to take more responsibility for their children.
Chris Rock: "I take care of my kids!" What do you want, a cookie?

Ellis also makes an interesting point: "The other side to this story, however, the one that is rarely reported, is the demonization of far too many dads after a family splits. I've heard from men who wanted to be involved dads but have been barred from seeing their kids by an unfeeling and decidely anti-male family court system." I'm sure that's true. But I don't think that diminishes Obama's (or Rock's) message.

Why, it's none other than Indiana's own Harrison Ford. Indiana Jones that is, I don't know where he's from.

Harrison was seen with Calista Flockhart and Liam after grabbing something to eat for Father's Day.

Chris Tucker Fingers the Lakers One Last Time

I've had this picture of Chris Tucker and his son Destin on the back burner since Sunday and I figured I best post it now while there's still a reason to wear those foam fingers.

Boston has only lost one game at home the entire playoffs, and on top of that I don't see them dropping two games in a row. Then again, what the hell do I know?

Back to the Tuckers, Destin looks like a sweet kid, doesn't he? I wonder if he ever gets a word in when hanging with Dad.

An American Girl: Chris O'Donnell

Three out of 5 ain't bad. Chris O’Donnell and his wife Caroline Fentress took three of their five kids to the premiere of Kit Kittredge: An American Girl. The premiere was held at The Grove which is located in that grey area between Beverly Hills and Hollywood.

I was thinking that a shopping center was an odd choice for a movie premiere until I realized that they took out the very cool Turner Classic Movies museum and replaced it with the biggest American Girl store I've ever seen (yes, it's the only one I've ever seen, but it's still huge).

Who is this clean-cut daddy flying into L.A. for a Father's Day visit with his kids?

If you guessed Johnny Depp, you guessed correctly. I haven't seem him look this pretty since Jump Street- makes him look 10 years younger.

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure he still smells like cigarettes and France.

Happy Father's Day, Harrison Ford

There is some talk of Harrison Ford going legit and putting something shiny, but hopefully not too heavy, on Calista Flockhart's finger (don't want her falling over). Should that happen Flockhart has agreed to let Ford legally adopt her son Liam.

That's the legal talk, the reality is that Harrison is the only father figure that Liam has ever known and I'm betting he's a damn cool one- come on, Han Solo and Indiana Jones, that's really not fair.
