feedback for "Five-Minute Time Out: Peter Yarrow"
-
I always get a kick out of synchronicity....
I was just visiting my parents with my husband and 4 week old (at the time) son. My son was tired and cranky and out of sorts from being on a long car ride and then in a strange place. I started singing to him to help calm him and hopefully get him to sleep. Not liking "kids music" and feeling insincere about singing a traditional lullabye, I started singing songs from my repertoire- including a little U2 ("I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" still really sounds good slowed down and sung quietly!) Then, I remembered my parents' Peter, Paul and Mary CD set. I put on disc 1 and sang along with "500 Miles," "Puff," and "Stewball." Baby boy was asleep quickly.
I love hearing folk music- it's what my parents played for me when I was little. Bravo to Peter Yarrow for "Carrying It On." Thanks for the article.
