feedback for "Show Me the Baby"

Speak for yourself! I would never "dream of " being sedated for my son's birth! I am so very thankful for being able to remember and feel the entire birthing process. I recall it at times and it makes me definitely want to do it again.
I actually think what saved me from having a horrible birthing and succumbing to any medical intervention was actually not watching those shows like "A Baby Story". How you experience your birthing is, in my experience, largely determined by
On the other hand, I love "House of Babies" but I would not even recommend that to an expectant mom. What I recommend? HYPNOBABIES!

The show Bringing Home Baby really bothers me. I don't mind the others, although post pregnancy you couldn't force me to watch A Baby Story or House of Babies and see other women giving birth. My problem with Bringing Home Baby is that first off, so many of the parents make huge car seat errors. I even saw one episode where the baby wasn't strapped in. Then almost every mom seems to struggle and eventually give up on breastfeeding, which isn't surprising because they all say they are supposed to let the baby only nurse for a certain period of time on each breast or that they need to supplement after a certain period of time which is not true. On the updates very rarely are the moms still breastfeeding. Very few of the families are from non-traditional backgrounds or AP parents or use cloth diapers or co-sleep or anything other then what we would imagine as "normal" parenting.

The birth shows are pretty uniform, too- most women are drugged, hooked up to loads of machines, are reclining (often flat on their backs with toes toward the ceiling). I've been watching them mainly so I know what shouldn't be happening when I give birth.
