6. on most parenting issues i try not to judge as long as a parent is loving -- which Dawson seems to be.

9. great interview! I've chosen to modify our vax schedule, but if she wants to not do it or wait, then that's up to her. there are some scary things in those vax... best to research and ask questions before injecting your kids with them. and i don't see her being a friend, she's just a creative type that values all words it seems. i like that she's gentle with her DD as well. i'll be checking her music out.

10. I am ALL about spreading the vax schedule out, but you need to vaccinate. Because when my baby who is too young for her MMR gets measles because you couldn't be bothered to vaccinate YOUR kid, I am going to come over and beat the shit out of you.
    
    Everything else in this piece is awesome. But not vaxing your kid makes you an asshole. You endanger other kids this way, and it is not cool.

11. Kimya, it sounds like your daughter is having a great childhood. Regarding vaccination, I'll repeat here what I said on another thread. When my daughter ran a high fever when she was about eight weeks old or so, she didn't have to have a spinal tap ... but only because the disease the spinal tap would have ruled out has been made very rare over the past 10-15 years because someone developed a vaccination for it, and that vaccination is now routinely used. I find that even very well informed people don't often talk about public health advantages such as this. If everybody thought about how terrified helpless they felt the first time their babies were ill, and how they would have felt subjecting them to something like a spinal tap, it might shift their calculus a little bit.

13. kimya is not an asshole, not selfish, and not ignorant.she is fabulous and amazing, and takes such amazing care of her daughter panda.vaccinating your kid can be scary and dangerous, don't judge so quickly, people figure out what does and doesn't need to be done on their own time. for now, just listen to this wonderful woman's music and read her insightful words.
