Just thought I'd pipe in and say that Benadryl did not work with my child. It kept her awake during a 7-hour two-flight saga well past 11 pm and she did not sleep till she was in her own bed after we got home. I still have nightmares about that day. So you may want to test it on your child first- find out whether it causes drowsiness or hyperactivity- before you step on the plane, to save yourself the hard knock.
