Kori I love your blog, I'm a big fan of Mates of State and a young mother of a young kid whose daddy is frequently on tour around the uk (but me and my girl stay at home, wimps that we are). Sadly we're in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and since having Skye I can't jump on a boat to Scotland to catch you.
Just one wee comment on this blog. "Fireworks night" is easily explained - it's Guy Fawkes day (5th November). He was the man who many centuries ago tried to blow up the parliament buildings in a bid to free the "kingdom" of protestant rule. And why do we still celebrate this long dead, sectarian, would-be arsonist?
Cos everyone loves an excuse to set off fireworks :)
