Great advice for anyone. There should be no set rules for raising a family let alone a child (save for the big ones - don't neglect, don't hurt, etc.) This is what makes each family, and therefore, each child different. Clones and drones does not an interesting society make. You have one stellar, wordly child. Plus you are doing the best thing of all - keeping the family as close as possible. Kudos - mmm kudos.

OMG the US kid on European time -- we know that problem all too well!!! My husband's family lives in England so we take our 2 small children there once a year or so. Dealing with their jetlag is horrible, for them and for us. Nothing to do about it but grit your teeth and help them to adjust, as they will do eventually. Probably about the time you have to travel to another timezone......
