  1. why is it embarrasing to say Bjorn?  Bjorns have nothing to do with "alternadads".  Bjorns are super practical and really great.  why all the needless self-loathing?  i don't understand why dad's can't just be regular parents. we're either "alternadads" or some kind of macho, non-present dads.  why not just regular dads?   oh - i know.  because that doesn't make for interesting reading.

  2. Re: K'tan vs. Ergo...   I have a Baby K'tan and I absolutely love it! I don't think it is hard to put on at all. Yes, I had to figure it out the first time, but after that it was a piece a cake. It's just two loops of cloth -- I mean come on, you don't have to be a rocket sceintist. Difficult to put on is the last thing I would say about my K'tan!   I also love that it can be worn in so many positions (and even though it's not in the instructions, I wear it on my back too) so for me the K'tan basically covers all the aspect of the Ergo, and more.

  3. I also recently bought a baby ktan carrier and I love it! It does take a few minutes to figure out, but once you have, it is easy and great!  It takes you from baby to toddler in different position options.  It's very comfortable and has great back support.  I highly recommend it!

  4. I  have tried a bunch of slings/baby carriers that are currently on the market...None of them compare to the Baby K'tan..It is by far the best one out there and very easy to use..There is no tying, buckles or wrapping.Very comfy...My son absolutely LOVES it....We NEVER leave home without it...

  5. Ktan vs. Ergo:  I agree with the first part of the review of the Baby K'tan baby carrier - that it is one of the more attractive carriers on the market, and that it is the "best of both worlds" because it provides the sling-like positions, as well as the upright Baby Bjorn/Ergo type postions.  But I totally disagree with the comment that it is difficult to put on.  I bought the Baby K'tan because 2 of my friends love it and touted its two-loop design as very easy to put on and take off (unlike the wrap slings which neither I nor my son have any patience for).  While not generally technically inclined, I mastered using the Baby K'tan right away.  It feels much more secure than a regular sling and provides back support because it has two loops of fabric going over both shoulders and crossing at the back (unlike slings).  I also love the soft fabric and that it has no hardware so I can easily throw it in the washing machine and dryer.  And the cute matching baby hat is a plus!
