Editor’s note: We were unable to get in touch with Deb for this feature, so we asked Babble food blogger (and Smitten Kitchen fan!) Elizabeth Stark to share her thoughts:
My first impression of this blog: Like so many food bloggers, Smitten Kitchen was one of the first food blogs I fell in love with. From the start, I loved Deb’s funny, relaxed writing style and knockout recipes.
What makes this blog great: It offers a delicious spin on all kinds of seasonal comfort foods. Smitten Kitchen has great, from-scratch recipes that get it right every time.
My favorite recipe of Deb’s: Sour cherry slab pie is my absolute favorite recipe. I love how Deb uses a fleeting seasonal ingredient like sour cherries and makes the most of them in a delicious and unique dessert.
If I could describe this blog in one word, it would be: Unfussy and delicious (One word just wasn’t enough.)
If Deb was coming over for dinner, I would serve … Of course I’d be super nervous, so I’d keep it simple with classic roast chicken, seasonal vegetables, and homemade pie and ice cream for dessert.
Editor’s note: Since she was #2 in our list of the top 100 food bloggers of 2013, Deb was automatically given a spot in the Babble 100 Food category. After this she will be inducted into the Babble Hall of Fame.
