The song that sums me up best is “Ordinary Day” by Great Big Sea because the lyrics remind me that “at the end of the day, you’ve just got to say, ‘It’s all right,’” no matter how much life throws at you.

Where I go when I need to laugh: My phone — a call or text with a friend always cheers me up.

Humor is … a valuable and necessary part of life.

The actor I’d want to play me in the movie of my life is Catherine Tate because she is hilarious but has a great serious side when called for. Bonus? I’d get to be a ginger!

The moment when I laughed my hardest: There are so many times I’ve laughed until I cried, usually with a friend named Jennifer. But one time, my husband went to change our newborn, only to have the baby pee in his face. That, plus my husband’s reaction, were beyond hilarious. Or maybe it was funny because it wasn’t happening to me. Or because it was 4 am. Or all of the above.

I can’t live without … music. I don’t think I’d know how to, it’s always been such a part of my life. I may have a mental soundtrack for my life, but admitting it may sound a bit weird.

My spirit animal: Sloth.

The one piece of advice I’d give to a new parent: Always trust your instincts. You are the expert when it comes to your child, don’t let anyone try to dissuade you of that.

My favorite Disney movie: Rapunzel.

My hidden talent: Being able to close just one eyelid, leaving the other open. Learned it from my grandfather.

The one word that best describes me: Quirky.

I have been following “Herding Cats” for quite a while now, and I love it! The trials and joys of raising a special needs child are sometimes heartbreaking, often frustrating, but always wonderful to read about. A great blog.
