10 Shiny Items To Distract Your Child From Weird Plastic Items.

My little sister just called me to tell me that she was in Target buying last-minute gifts. I told her I’d text her my wish list. She said, no. She was buying all kinds of random, last-minute things for the Holidays (extension cords, etc) and some last-minute items for her daughter’s wish list, and she wasn’t taking any more requests. I asked her what my niece was asking Santa for this year. And here’s what she said.

My Niece’s Santa List:

  • A small toy car
  • A small toy choo-choo train
  • A strawberry (like, an actual strawberry)
  • A small American flag
  • A tiny backpack

Random Santa things. Easy Santa things. The kind of things I too will be going to Target to retrieve in about 15 minutes….except that my child, her boy cousin, wants things like this:

My Son’s Santa List:

  • A plastic Skylander Figure
  • A Lego anything whatever plastic items everywhere toy
  • More plastic
  • Also some plastic
  • Plus. Plastic.

But back to my niece, I told my sister she should ditch the tiny American flag request and get her shiny things. The world needs more shiny things. And little girls for sure do too. Here’s what I’d suggest.
