10 Western Inspired Pieces

Today’s fashion is so fun and versatile because it seems to come from all different eras and all different parts of the world. You can see someone sporting a 60′s shift dress one moment and 90′s grunge top the next. For this post I went a little further and looked for pieces today that are inspired by western wear from way back when. Click through to see more!

This dress is beyond gorgeous, don't you think? I love the western details in the cuffs, pockets, and especially the embroidered top. They modernized this dress by shortening it and keeping with a straight silhouette. Lovely!

It doesn't get more western than a cowboy boot. I love this updated version of the cowboy boot with the heel! It would be so easy to incorporate this in your wardrobe for a little western flare without looking like you just came off the prairie.

It's no secret that chambray tops are all the rage now days. In fact, they've practically been accepted into the classic must haves for today's closet. This particular top gives a nod to it's western roots with its pearl snaps and denim fade.

I love today's felt hats because they feel so fresh and modern, but if you look a little closer... that's a cowboy hat silhouette! It's got a little western twist without going all the way, the perfect balance in my mind!

    Felt hat $98.50

  • Western Fringe 5 of 10

Typically western fringe can be found on leather jackets as a detail on the the sleeves and back but I found it on this necklace! I love this necklace because they not only incorporate western fringe, but also a rope like chain. Again, it's the perfect piece to give a little nod to western wear without looking western from head to toe.
    Fringe Necklace $39.50

I don't know if you've ever noticed it, but western wear has the most fabulous details! Like the piping on this shirt. It's used to outline and highlight this blouse and mixed with the pearl snap buttons and embroidery, it takes this top to the next level. Would this shirt be cute paired with a high waited skirt?

Nothing shows how hard a cowboy works like the holes and tares in his jeans. With all the distressed pieces that are in today, it's easy to get the look of a true western. Funny how we actually pay to have holes in our jeans though huh?
    Distressed Jeans $24.80

  • Western Bandana 8 of 10

The classic paisley western bandana! Wouldn't this be fantastic tied to a modern purse or bag? I just love the detail work on this bandana and think it would be a fun way to play up an outfit or accessory.
    Paisley Bandana $14.00

  • Canvas and Leather 9 of 10

With all the men inspired fashion that is going around it's easy to find a lot of leather and canvas type pieces. But if you take it a step further you will also see that a lot of these pieces are inspired by western wear/materials. Isn't this canvas bag great? I can almost picture the saddle bag version!

    Leather Canvas Tote $198.00

Probably the easiest way to incorporate some western wear into your wardrobe is with a western print. They can easily be spotted on sweater, tops, bags, boots and everywhere in between. I love this sweater because the fact that it is in black and white keeps it modern.
