National Peanut Butter Day: 12 Delicious Recipes to Celebrate

January 24th is National Peanut Butter Day.

What better way to celebrate the holiday of one of our favorite ingredients than with a round-up of delicious, mouthwatering recipes that range from homemade peanut butter to 3-ingredient peanut butter pudding to peanut butter cookie dough truffles, and s’mores peanut butter cookies?

Whether your favorite way to eat peanut butter is straight from the jar with a spoon, paired with chocolate, smeared on bread with jelly, toasted in a unique grilled peanut butter, apple, and bacon sandwich or in cookie form … peanut butter is a staple in most households. The recorded peanut history goes as far back as 950 BC, and the first peanut butter making machine was patented in 1903 by Dr. Ambrose Straud but it’s believed that peanut butter was actually invented in the 1890′s.

What’s your favorite way to eat peanut butter? Do you eat it with a spoon? Do you fill celery stalks with it and top it with raisins? Are you a peanut butter and banana lover, a la Elvis?

Whatever your favorite is, here are 12 other delicious recipes to try:
