15 easy DIYs that are perfect for a summer craft night

The perfect DIY for a craft night is: easy, can be completed in one sitting, and doesn’t require too much concentration. Trust me, I’ve hosted enough craft nights to know. It’s also a bonus if the supplies are cheap enough that you can supply them for everybody, or, if you can buy them all and just have people pay you back.

Craft nights that require the participants to bring something special or have them need to put in a lot of thought in advance just won’t yield the same results.

So if you’re ready to host a craft night in which you actually get a CRAFT done…hold on to your glue guns, because I’m about to blow your mind with

15 easy DIYs that are perfect for a craft night.

  • 15 Easy DIYs for a craft night 1 of 16
  • DIY Neon Macrame Jars 2 of 16

Aren't these fabulous?! I LOVE them! I think I have enough jars on hand to fuel a whole craft party, but you could easily swing by the thrift store and pick up a whole bunch for your guests.

  • Tassels from Embroidery Floss 3 of 16

Embroidery floss is super inexpensive and versatile! The tassels are adorable on a garland or jewelry, but you can pretty much add them to anything for a bit of CHA CHA CHA.

  • DIY Camera Strap 4 of 16

I chose this version of a DIY camera strap because it doesn't require a sewing machine, plus the supplies are inexpensive. And I hunch that if you're the type of ladies who are interested in a craft night...you probably all have a camera.

  • Corkboard Coasters 6 of 16

Coasters are a MUST in my house. You can buy rolls or sheets of corkboard at craft stores, and it's inexpensive. This is a really cute design that even the artistically challenged will have an easy time recreating, plus it's chic to boot.

  • DIY Rhinestone Cord Bracelet 7 of 16

Save that neon cord from your macrame jars, and then make some of these gorgeous rhinestone cord bracelets. I've been loving the "pack as many brightly-colored bangles as you can" look that has been happening this summer. And this is an easy way to get a lot of bling for not much bang. Does that even make sense?! READ: IT'S CHEAP.

  • DIY Paper Flowers 8 of 16

Well there are more paper flower DIYs going around this season than you can shake a stick at, so I'm loving this round-up. This is a great craft night project because one person can buy the supplies for everyone and everyone can leave with a bouquet!

  • DIY Glittered Animal Clip 9 of 16

I made these for my daughter, but I totally wear these all the time. Hair accessories are a perfect summer craft night activity because they are fast, and everyone is dying for a way to spruce up their "it's too hot to do my hair" fun bun.

  • DIY Duct Tape Clock 10 of 16

Mer Mag is a WHIZ at coming up with Duct Tape crafts! Seriously. I love this little clock because it's cute to have on display even if you don't have kids who will want to play with it. Dump a bunch of your old cereal boxes on a table along with some rolls of duct tape and you've got yourself a happening party.

  • Embroidery Hoop Art 12 of 16

I LOVE these little hoop art animals, but there are tons of options for hoop art even if you have a fear of  needles. Think HOT GLUE! Get crazy with some fabric scraps and beads even acrylic paint and the sky is the limit. Don't forget it's super cute to paint the hoop too.

  • Gold Leaf Succulent Pots 13 of 16

I've actually been looking for some good terra cotta cover up inspiration for a while now, and these are by far my favorite. Don't be intimidated by the "gold leaf" factor. It's actually very easy to do and you can find it at any big box craft store.

  • DIY Spool Planters 14 of 16

I know these maybe aren't for everybody, but come on?! The cuteness factor of these is KILLING me. This is the PERFECT craft night DIY because to buy all the supplies for just one little necklace is kind of expensive. But get a gaggle of gals together and this would be so fun.

  • DIY Terrarium 15 of 16

And in that same vein, DIY terrariums were ALL the craft night rage a while ago. It's because they are so fun, but there are also some random supplies needed that are better bought in bulk.

  • Embroidery Hoop Earrings 16 of 16

And one of my favorites for last! I'm itching to make these. Literally, itching. BAH! If the craft store was open right now I'd go buy myself some hoops. What am I talking about!? I might even have some hoops from high school hiding in a cabinet somewhere.
