5 Things a Day for 5 Days (Day 2 aka The Perfect Jeans)

Day 2 of cleaning out my closet as part of my 5 Things a Day for 5 Days series.  I had a lot of anxiety about today. It’s jeans day.  I’m somewhat of a jeans hoarder.  I’m embarrassed at how many pairs of jeans I have…..some are about 10 years old…..and they haven’t been worn….in 10 years. I’ve kept a lot of them around thinking maybe I’d fit into them again or maybe they would come back into style, neither of which has happened.

Today I got rid of 5 pairs…..that’s progress. A few pairs I didn’t even have to try on. They were THAT questionable.  The high-waisted 70′s pair? Those were thrown out because let’s be honest, only Gisele can pull those off. I don’t know what I was thinking when I bought those.  Two pairs that I parted with had a super low rise that would only be appropriate if I was Lady Gaga….and well, I’m not.  The remaining jeans I would classify as my mom jeans. I don’t think they were always mom jeans, but jeans have come so far in the last few years that these definitely would fall into the “old model” category. Remember jeans before “stretch” was invented? So how did I decide which pairs to keep? Here’s my criteria:
