For wired families with iPods, smartphones, tablets, laptops and so many devices, mobile printing can really make your life easier. Busy parents don’t have to be at their desk to print out school forms, lunch menus or pictures for a school project. Once you’ve set up a wireless printer and your mobile devices, you’re good to go.

In my case, I even send things I need to print such as lists or work contracts to the print queue when I am at carpool or waiting at the pediatrician, so I know that once I walk into my home, I won’t forget to do it. Trust me, more than once I have forgotten to print an important document, only to remember when it’s too late. Also, I travel so frequently that being able to just walk straight into the airport security line with my boarding pass makes my life so much easier. The one time I left my printout at home, I totally regretted it while I was standing in line to just check in at the self-service machine. I barely made it to my gate on time.

Make lists and print them before you forget what you need. It's best to do what you need to do as soon as it is at the top of your mind, before the busy life of  a parent gets in the way. So many things compete for our attention at any given moment, that this way you are more likely to get everything done.

  • Win at school projects! 5 of 8

Need pictures for school projects? Just print from your phone, iPad or Instagram. Some cameras even allow you to print using your WiFi connection, too. The photos will be much more original than just a regular Google image search, too, which will make your child's project stand out.

Print homework assignments, images or school forms from any device anywhere. If your laptop has no battery, or your computer for some reason isn't getting email, you won't have to stress, because all you need to do is pull up whatever you need on a mobile device.

While food is in the oven or your coffee is brewing, just print any documents, contracts, forms or pictures you need from your mobile device. This takes multitasking to a whole new level and you can make the most out of every single second in the morning.

    Gift tag

Use an app to do a collage with your child's photo, add text and send to your wireless printer. Use as a last-minute birthday invitation or greeting card. You can even do a quick gift tag for kids' birthdays: just punch a hole in a corner and attach to a birthday gift with ribbon or raffia.  Original and easy. just what busy parents need!
