It’s no secret that I am a professional rodeo clown when it comes to family life. OK, I’m not *really* a rodeo clown, but I feel like one. Because of my busy schedule I look for the most bang for my buck, as they say.
Host a big, lavish kid party? No thank you. However, I do love relaxed themed parties. Any party that involves having fun, happy kids and very little work beforehand is my kinda bash.
My best advice is don’t even look at a Pinterest board full of party ideas. You’ll just get depressed because you can’t bake a gluten-free 15 foot tall cake shaped like a cornucopia and sew your own pilgrim outfits. Keep expectations low and your level of fun is guaranteed to be higher.
Here are some of my favorite tips on how to have a relaxed Fall themed neighborhood party:
1. Have the kids make signs and have a parade. Sure, they will only be marching up and down the street, but the pictures will be awesome!
2. Have all the neighbors bring a covered dish and have a fun lunch outside.
3. Buy prizes for little games at your local dollar store. The kids love junky prizes as much as pricey ones.
Lucky Ducks!
Yes, we used a baby pool for the lucky duck game because we keep it low key.
