When the Dog met the Air Hog
There are so many wonderful things about having a dog. Our Mollie is quirky.
She sometimes is sure she is under attack by innocent objects in the household. Large cardboard boxes, new vacuum cleaners and some of the boys really cool toys all give her panic attacks.
This is a photo-story of when Mollie met the Air Hog and almost lost her mind.
(If you don’t know what an Air Hog is, it’s a remote controlled toy that my 11 and 14 year olds love. They fly it like a helicopter, shoot little missiles out of it and drive it like a truck. Basically, it is the perfect toy for big boys, especially big boys who love adventures.)
Have you ever seen a dog want to protect the family from a seemingly terrifying attacker, but was almost frozen with fear? That is her face below, she really thought the boys’ toy was dangerous.
She’s our loyal protector who was just a wee bit afraid herself.
Check out the slideshow I made to show you the pictures of her working up her courage to attack the Air Hog.
And, still today the boys fly it all around Mollie, but now they drop treats to her from the bridge above the living room.

My 14 year old has become a master at shooting the little teeny yellow missiles at me when I’m least expecting it. It was cute until one bounced of my arm and in my coffee. (HeeHee)
The boys love all the adventures they have with the Air Hog and I love to document the fun and trouble they all get into.

My family does the same thing with our cat, except that our cat only has one eye–does that make it bad?
Poor dog – but I totally know how this goes!!!
What a cool toy! We got a toy helicopter a few years ago and it was literally dead by Christmas night. Something like this with a little better quality would be awesome!
