So you have a Netflix account? And an Xbox 360? Are you using them together? If not, you should! And if you have an Xbox 360 and don’t have Netflix…well, that really should change. And, of course, vice-versa.
Why? Because the Xbox 360 can stream Netflix; so that means movies, TV shows, exercise vids, anything on Netflix are available to watch through your Xbox 360. It’s not just a gaming system; it really can be a command central media hub for your family.
When we all snuggle up for a movie night, we start flipping through Netflix to find the perfect family movie. The Netflix interface is familiar and intuitive, so no learning curve there. Netflix’s library is huge; there’s always something we always want to watch. Honestly, the biggest problem is debating between the movies everyone AGREES they want to watch. It’s a good problem.
Also? NO COMMERCIALS. No inappropriate ads popping up in the middle of a family movie night, no “cliff-hanger” interruptions, no sitting through trailers and other non-fast-forwardable content. Awesomeness.
Also also? If you want to get fancy you can use voice commands and gestures to search for and scroll through movies. This is Jetson’s stuff, y’all.
I also love that Netflix has a ‘Just for Kids’ option, so my littler ones under 12 can access shows from Dora to Sponge Bob with the click of a button. Appropriate content FTW!
There’s really something special about family movie night. Everyone all snuggly on the sofa, munching snacks, fighting for arm room, trying to make sure their feet are covered with the blankets, and all hanging out together. Streaming Netflix movies with our Xbox 360 makes it all the easier. Happy movie viewing!
