Disney and Google Chrome Unveil ‘Find Your Way to Oz’
Last week I got an email from Google inviting me to the Google LA offices in Venice to be part of a top-secret announcement they were going to be making along with Disney. The invitation was very vague, but wouldn’t this pique your curiosity as well?
Of course, I RSVP’d. Both Google and Disney have become two words I truly utter more than once per day, and I definitely wanted to be part of whatever great announcement they had. Plus, anything that takes the art of storytelling to a new level is something I want to know more about — and even more so if it’s from the master storytellers themselves: Disney.
Yesterday afternoon I headed out to the Google LA offices and by then, those invited already knew the grand announcement involved the soon-to-be-released and much-anticipated movie Oz: The Great and the Powerful. We weren’t allowed to take any pictures or video during the actual event, but the group of mom bloggers amongst the media folks surely did tweet the announcement made by both Disney and Google executives.

FindYourWaytoOz.com is the new Google Chrome Experiment that will launch on February 5th. This marks the first time ever that Google partners with a major studio, and what they have jointly created combines superior web technology and master storytelling. Google took the world of Oz: The Great and the Powerful and brought it to life in a full interactive, 3-D browser experience that we can each make our own through pictures, videos and audio, without the need of messing with additional plugins or apps.
Check out a few images from FindYourWaytoOz.com and stay tuned for the launch of February 5th.
