I confess that I never thought I would have so much fun with my girl’s princess stage. I adore it and have no qualms about what others worry about that Disney princesses could destroy her self-image of an empowered girl. Quite the contrary. Her love of Princess Sofia the First, in particular, is a beautiful thing to witness because she really gets incredibly creative with her play and Sofia has turned out to be a pretty fantastic role model of a little girl.
Since this house lives and breathes Sofia the First all the time, it’s only a given that Camila is so excited for Disney Junior’s Pirate and Princess Summer because it means that there’s a brand new Sofia the First episode every single Friday through the end of August. And, yes, there’s also new Jake episodes airing every week for the pirate-lovers. But what we’re most excited about is the chance to have a picture of Camila in one of her Sofia moments air on Disney Junior! (Her and I are actually on a promo that’s airing right now and was shot last year, but she wants more!)
You too have that chance if you just visit the Disney Junior Pirate and Princess Summer landing page and from there pick a theme, print a prop, and upload your child’s photo for a chance to be featured on Disney Junior! Participate in as many themes as you like and be a part of Disney Junior’s Pirate and Princess event all summer long!
My girl and I had so much fun working on these pictures together. I totally let her take the lead and decide which themes she wanted to use, what she wanted to wear, how she would pose, which props to feature, etc. The results are frame-worthy and I hope Disney Junior-worthy too! What do you think?
