Every single thing we do in life is really a quest for happiness — the job we look for, the person we marry, the friends we have, the books we read and on and on. Happiness is hands down our ultimate goal, but we “work” so hard in achieving that goal that we might end up forgetting to do the little things that truly bring joy and happiness to our here and now.
Just like any goal in life, the key is to break it down into small, actionable and easy-to-do steps that will make the task feel attainable. And even though I hate calling happiness a “task” or “work,” the reality is that more and more we have to actually make the time and develop a consciousness that makes us aware of the want to constantly create those experiences. The trick is to fill up as much of your life with those small and conscious moments and feelings of happiness are sure to overcome our every day!
I know, it sounds a bit too happy, happy, sparkles and unicorns, but what’s wrong with that? I’m a bit tired of being tired all of the time and having my day wash over in a sea of to-do lists and commitments I never should have committed to in the first place. As much as I love what I do and who I do it with, I will admit to having less and less moments of happiness that I have purposefully created. So, I came up with this list of nine things that can each be done in 15 minutes or less and that are guaranteed to make you and me feel instantly happy.
