I lied to my daughter last week and I’m not happy about it. But I knew that if I told her I was invited to the grand opening of Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure, she would so obviously beg to come with me. I would have loved her to, but it’s hard to get work done when I have an overly excited preschooler wanting to experience it all. There’s no doubt we will go back as a family and have a blast because Cars Land has turned out to be another very magical Disney place.
What my girl will experience as soon as she walks in to this new land that’s tucked in between Bug’s Land and Paradise Pier, is the notion of walking in to the Disney*Pixar town of Radiator Springs. She’ll walk down the iconic Route 66 and pass through Tow Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, Flo’s Café, Cozy Cone Motel, Luigi’s Flying Tires, and eventually make it to Radiator Springs Racers – Cars Land most thrilling and exhilarating ride. All of this to a gorgeous scenery of red canyons which feel so real, she’ll find it hard to believe when I explain to her they’re actually manmade and hard-carved.
She’ll also have a blast meeting so many of the beloved Cars characters that have all been brought to life in different ways throughout Cars Land. There’s even a Mater petting zoo!
We’ll stop to make sure we eat or snack at Cozy Cone where she’ll be able to choose amongst many options including churros, chili con carne, popcorn, ice cream and more – all served in a cone!
We’ve always been huge fans of Disney’s California Adventure because we’ve always felt it was easy to navigate with young children and there’s just so much there for them to engage it. Cars Land has just taken it to a whole new level and we can’t wait to add this experience to our many Disneyland Resorts memories.
This slideshow takes you on a tour of Cars Land with pictures taken the first full day it was open. Check them out and tell me what you can’t wait to experience with your family!
