Our One-Day Roman Holiday {Video}

By Ana Flores |

rome norwegian cruise line family vacationOne of the cities I’ve always wanted to visit is Rome, but I never thought I’d get there on a cruise! Of course, my husband and I were only in Rome and the Vatican for less than 10 hours while the Norwegian Epic was at port, but it was enough for us to become enamored with the city, its art, architecture, history, and vibrant energy.

While our girl had a blast during Port Play aboard the Norwegian Epic’s Recess Kid’s Club, we walked out to the port of Civitavecchia to board the Ultimate Rome shore excursion tour bus which would take us on our first Roman adventure during one of the hottest days of the city’s recorded history.

Nevertheless, what we lived was unforgettable and we’ve got the video to prove it. Check it out.

A big thanks to Norwegian Cruise Line for sponsoring this campaign. Click here to see more of the discussion.

    Amazing video of your visit to Rome! My brother visited Rome about two years ago and absolutely loved his experience.

    Awesome that you were able to fit so much into a day! I went to Europe on a similar whirlwind-type trip with my Spanish class in high school and we were running around like crazy trying to see everything before we had to move on to the next city.

    Were there still cats in The Colosseum? That was one of my favorite things, LOL, (just like I love the stray dogs in El Salvador.)

    Did you see the Spanish Steps near the Trevi Fountain? Or try out a coin operated version of La Bocca della Verità? … Those were other highlights for me… I think I still have my “fortune” print-out from that thing somewhere :)

    What a wonderful experience for you and your hubby. And it was especially great that you were able to enjoy it without having to worry about your little one. That is a great privilege of the boat. I’m happy and jealous all at the same time.
