Many thanks to Dell and Babble for providing me with this awesome Inspiron All-in-One, and with another one to give away to a reader. This post is part of my four-part series on how technology fits into my home/family life, sponsored by Dell. Leave a comment below for a chance to win!
Yesterday a huge box arrived on my doorstep – the awesome Dell Inspiron All-in-One that I am giving away! Annabel was so freaking excited and she didn’t even know what it was. Luckily my mom was over at the house, so she was able to distract I MEAN play with Annabel while I set the computer up (which, incidentally, took about three minutes).
Thanks to iPhones, Annie thinks everything is a touch screen, so the Inspiron is right up her alley. She and my mom sat down and had tons of fun exploring the computer.
The computer came pre-loaded with a game starring everyone’s favorite explorer, Dora. Dora is Annie’s current obsession – she has a Dora toy that sings to her in English and Spanish, she loves her TV show, and she even eats yogurt every morning with Dora’s likeness on the packaging. Yeah, it’s ridic. Anyway, I pulled the game up and Annie. Went. Insane.
It took Annie about 30 seconds to figure out the game, and then she was doing everything like a pro. It was crazy. It’s a nice little educational game about geography, and it even taught Annie some new Spanish words. Now when she leaves the room I get an “adios, Mama!” Muy bien, Annabel.
Twenty minutes on the computer was our limit, then it was time to go play in the backyard. I think we’re equally excited about getting back on the Inspiron. I am really looking forward to using the computer as a teaching tool – the touchscreen makes learning so much more interactive and I can already tell it’s going to be very effective. Annie? She just wants to “play more Dorrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaa!”
I am giving away this awesome Dell Inspiron All-in-One computer! To enter to win, leave a comment below telling me what you’d use the Inspiron for. Be sure to leave comments on my other Dell Tech posts (here, here, and here) for three more chances to win.
