How do you like to celebrate your child’s birthday? Big party with friends? Dinner at a favorite restaurant? Cupcakes at home with the family? There are so many options, deciding how to celebrate can be overwhelming!
My recommendation: establish a simple birthday tradition and stick to it every year. Your kids will come to expect and rely on the tradition, and they’ll look forward to it like nothing else. It will become one of their favorite childhood memories! You can keep the rest of the birthday plans flexible — some years, your kids might crave a themed-party; other years, they might want to go to a movie or see a performance. But if you keep the tradition in place, they’ll have a happy birthday no matter what.
Need ideas to get started? I made a little video with 3 simple, easy, and inexpensive options to jumpstart your own birthday traditions. And I’ll be sharing 3 more ideas in video part 2 next week!
