We live about a stone’s throw from Disney’s California Adventure and Disneyland alike. And with that comes investing in annual passes (best Christmas present ever) and a great many trips to the Disney Parks. In fact, with an extended, local family full of die-hard Disney fans, we have created regular family outings and even traditions built around our trips to the parks. Christmas, Halloween, end of summer and in the case of last night’s visit, the start of summer. Our annual passes block us out of the heart of summer so it’s become a tradition for us to make a trip on one of the last days that our passes are valid before the summer black out. Obviously, I would rather not have any dates where Disneyland was unavailable to us, but, I will admit that with these specific dates marked in the calendar, it keeps us true to our annual pilgrimages. And what perfect way to start the summer than a trip to Disneyland!
This year, we opted for a leisurely evening at Disney’s California Adventure. It doesn’t get any better than the golden hour at any of the Disney Parks, believe you me. As the sun slowly sinks, the crowds often disperse, the breeze gently blows and everything has that magical glow. And Calfornia Adventure is the quintessential place to make summer memories. Maybe it’s the photographer in me, but spending evenings like this for me is as good as it gets and is the perfect way to usher in the magic of summer.

How do you kick off summer? A run through the sprinklers? An ice cream cone? A trip to the seaside? A jump in the pool? Or maybe it’s a trip to the happiest place on earth? Whatever it is, I would love to hear about your favorite way to dive into summer.
