The {Incredible} Food at the Westin La Cantera Resort

By Dan Pearce |

Over the three days that Noah and I spent at the Westin La Cantera resort, we sampled a lot of their food and beverages. To me, there were two dishes in their restaurants that really stood out as incredible.

For breakfast, it was the french toast. This was on the menu at their restaurant Francesca’s at Sunset. I swear it melted in your mouth.

For dinner one evening, I ordered the short ribs. Slow cooked over four hours and reasonably priced, too. This was definitely one of the culinary highlights of our trip.

I won’t lie. I usually leave hotels because there’s better food not too far away. But at the Westin Hotel & Resorts there was no need to ever leave because leaving meant we’d miss out on whatever incredible edible was waiting for us around the next bend.

A big thanks to Westin Hotels & Resorts for sponsoring this campaign. Click here to see more of the discussion.

Oh my goodness…these meals sound delicious! I’ve always been very pleased with any Westin I’ve stayed at. Service is good and the atmosphere is a bit more upscale, but not pretentious. That french toast made my mouth water!

  2. Renee says:

Yum. What kid needs a kid’s menu with delicious food like that?

  3. Natalie says:

Now I can’t stop thinking about French Toast! Looks sooo good!

NEED that french toast!! i know what im making this weekend now- don’t think itll look like that but its worth a shot!

Okay, best french toast I ever had (although yours looks spectacular) was made using half-baked baguettes. Cut them on the bias, and make your french toast as normal in an egg bath with a splash of vanilla. THEN – sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and pop it in the oven on broil for a few seconds. Carmelize that goodness on top and BAM! best french toast ever (but not as pretty as the picture you took)

The Westin always has delish food but that french toast is one-of-a-kind. And I am so glad I saw the comment above so I can make them. And I am not even a big fan of short ribs but those look amazing too! I think I would stay here for the food alone. Is that bad? Thanks for sharing!

Breakfast is my favorite meal to eat out at restaurants because it’s always so, so good, but that French Toast looks amazing! My problem is always that I can’t decide what to order – I want the french toast, and the pancakes, and the omelets, and the bacon!
