Disney Attractions+ PhotoPass: Must-Have Best Disney Parks Souvenir

Our favorite memories of Walt Disney World are the rides. Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror? We’ll ride them all day if the lines will allow. The FASTPASS is our best friend.

When we visited Walt Disney World last Halloween for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, we spent a small fortune on buying the ride photos. You know the shots of your family screaming like goofballs as you round the first corner of Space Mountain? We adore those.

At $14.95 for each digital download, those memories can become expensive. Particularly if you ride your favorites, say, five times each. And think each and every photo is hilarious. Aaand convince yourself that if you don’t buy the photo, it didn’t happen.

I can’t be the only one that feels like photos cement the memories, right?

Toward the end of that Halloween trip, we started trying to budget ourselves and didn’t buy every single ride photo. I still remember what they looked like and I still 100% regret not buying them. We don’t have the shot of my first time on Tower of Terror! How is that possible?! (rends clothing and reaches longingly toward Orlando)

Enter the new Disney Attractions+ PhotoPass! (insert sounds of Magic Kingdom trumpets and look up at the falling pixie dust in wonder)

Disney Attractions+ PhotoPass

Introduced in December of last year (just out of our Halloween reach), the Attractions+ PhotoPass is now available at Disney Parks for $44.95 and gives you digital downloads of every single one of your ride photos, available on select rides (see slideshow below).

On our most recent visit this May, we took 12 ride photos. We were there for the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, a conference hosted by Disney Parks (which included discounted park admission and accommodations), and therefore had much less time to pack in rides. But you better believe we figured out how to do it. Even if it meant running to the Magic Kingdom for only an hour between conference events.

We are a ride-committed family.

At $14.95 each for the digital download from our 12 thrill rides, that would have run us $179.40. Buying the Disney Attractions+ PhotoPass saved us $134.45… because we absolutely would have bought every single one of those photos. After our last trip (see photo-regret rending of clothing above), we specifically budgeted for buying ride photos. That’s how much we love them. Some people buy t-shirts and tiaras. We buy ride photos.

Which rides does the Disney Attractions+ PhotoPass serve? What if you bought a ride photo yesterday in Magic Kingdom and now want the pass while you are in Disney’s Hollywood Studios today? Browse this ridiculously enthusiastic slideshow of our most recent ride photos for details!

  • Where do I buy the Disney Attractions+ PhotoPass? How does it work? 1 of 10
Where do I buy the Disney Attractions+ PhotoPass? How does it work?
Attractions+ is available at any of the participating rides, though not yet available for pre-purchase. We bought ours at Space Mountain, right where you would normally buy your ride photo.

All you do is go up to the desk where you would buy your ride photo after the ride, purchase the Attractions+ PhotoPass (which is a little plastic card), and then have it scanned after each of the participating rides you ride. All of your ride photos are then added to your card and available for download.

While at Splash Mountain, one of the cast members said she was excited to see us with it because most people still don't know about it.

  • What rides are included? 2 of 10
    What rides are included?

  • How many days does the Attractions+ PhotoPass cover? 3 of 10
How many days does the Attractions+ PhotoPass cover?
All of your ride photos at participating rides taken within a 14 day visit are included. Don't forget to stop at the photo desks on your way out of the ride to add your photo to your PhotoPass card! It only takes a minute or two.
  • What if I already bought a couple of ride photos? 4 of 10
What if I already bought a couple of ride photos?
This happened to us, too. We had already bought two ride photos when we noticed the sign for the Attractions+ PhotoPass. As long as you bought the photo within 24 hours of buying your Attractions+ PhotoPass, you can receive a credit toward the cost of the Attractions+ PhotoPass (essentially a refund for those purchased photos). All you need is your receipt!
  • How long do I have to download the photos? 5 of 10
How long do I have to download the photos?
All PhotoPass photos must be claimed/ downloaded within 30 days.
  • Why would I want photos with strangers in them? 6 of 10
Why would I want photos with strangers in them?
Ignore those strangers! There were lots of strangers in this photo but look at our faces. I love this photo of us!
  • What if I already bought (or plan to buy) PhotoPass+? 7 of 10
What if I already bought (or plan to buy) PhotoPass+?
Your attraction photos are already included in PhotoPass+, so this would be redundant.
  • Your family is clearly posing in some of these shots. How do you know where the camera is? 8 of 10
Your family is clearly posing in some of these shots. How do you know where the camera is?
Although my 8 year old, Quinn, has a knack for figuring out where the camera is even on rides we've never been on, it usually takes me once or twice to remember where it takes our photo. You can tell because the camera flashes.
  • Seriously, where is the camera on Space Mountain? 9 of 10
Seriously, where is the camera on Space Mountain?
In Space Mountain, the camera is as you go around one of the first curves. The camera actually flashes twice to get the first and then the second three-set of cars. Smile through both flashes, just in case!
  • You leave a lot to be desired in your poses, but what is your little boy doing in the front? 10 of 10
You leave a lot to be desired in your poses, but what is your little boy doing in the front?
After my "PEW! PEW!" laser gun pose runs out, I'm clearly out of ideas. Regarding Grey, I had to ask, too. He's holding fireballs. Because... fireballs!
