Ronnie and I have four children. Three of the four still live at home and they all have distinctively different styles. Did I say they have distinctively different styles? They are all girls under the age of 10. But if you try to pick out the wrong clothes for one of them…your day will be off to a very bad start. Since the holidays are here we’ll be having additional fashion debates on top of our normal school based fashion debates, so we’re getting prepared. As we travel over the next few weeks visiting family and friends we want the girls to look adorable, while also feeling comfortable and happy with their outfit choices. Among the three, their styles are:
Girl One: (10 Years Old)
Style: Sporty and laid back
Begs you to buy a pair of boots each winter… but wears tennis shoes or flats every day anyway. I fell into her trap this winter and bought her two pairs of boots over a month ago. Needless to say, the tags are still on one pair. She’s a fan of skinny jeans and t-shirts (even in the winter). Will wear the same look over and over if we let her. And, frowns up when we continuously remind her that she has a closet full of “nice” outfits that never see the light of day.
Girl Two: (6 Years Old)
Style: Stylish and trendy
A fan of boots, skinny jeans, dresses, sandals and accessories. Our six year old uses the term,”fashion” way too much lol. I don’t even know what she’s talking about half of the time. She loves picking out her own clothes and has loved doing it for the past few years. She’ll switch from sneakers to flats to boots in the blink of an eye. Looking cute is a priority for this baby fashionista.
Girl Three: (4 Years Old)
Style: Dressed up glam
Our baby girl loves to wear dresses and skirts! She would wear a dress every day if she could. If you were a fly on the wall, you would hear the words, “can I wear a church dress” on a regular basis. She’s in flats with straps every day of the week….unless we make her wear sneakers.
While it would be easier for us if we could just buy three of everything in varying sizes, we love that each of our little ladies can let their personalities shine through their clothing choices. Thankfully, great looking clothes don’t have to be super, expensive. When we were kids, inexpensive clothing had a certain “look” to say the least. But now we can find quality and stylish cloths at affordable prices from stores like Target for our little fashionistas.
