Exploring Wide Angle Pinhole Photography (A 6 Year Old’s Selfie)

If you’ve dabbled in photography at all you know that wide angle lenses can be ridiculously expensive. I made my daughter a few pinhole cameras to continue our venture into traditional photography…this time experimenting with a wide angle format. The cost of the camera was the cost of an empty coffee can!



To get the wide angle effect all we had to do was switch from a box-shaped camera to a cylinder-shaped camera.  We used a coffee can:



The resulting photography is amazing. I love the light leaks and the imperfections. The best part is that my six year old can take her own self portrait:
