Fall is Here!

Even before the leaves turn, Fall makes itself known with that first blissfully mild afternoon when the sun is warm but the breeze is cool. The brisk air inspires us to gather with family and friends for a host of reasons.

If you are busier than normal this time of year, pause for something small, such as a Saturday picking pumpkins from the local patch. Oftentimes, pumpkin patches offer lots of other family activities like hay rides and mazes that fill the afternoon with countless memories.

Cooler weather also brings with it tons of festivals. The one I enjoy most is the New York City Wine & Food Festival. Since the festival began 5 years ago it has helped to raise over $5 million for a cause near and dear to my heart—childhood hunger….and it’s just getting started! For the third consecutive year, I will be hosting SWEET, a dessert walk-around tasting party this Friday, October 12th. SWEET offers everything from luscious, confectionary cakes and voluptuous velvety cupcakes to decadent drinks and mesmerizing music that will surely make the night unforgettable. There are very few tickets left so get one and come spend the evening with me and lets enjoy life together! You only live once and it’s way to short to pass up a great night out! Make sure to continue to savor the season even on the busier weekdays by preparing an autumn meal. This week I will share with you recipes for fast-fix favorites like Roasted Chicken Breasts with Herbed Buttered and Vegetables and Brandied Caramel Apple Pie. These recipes pair perfectly with an Almond Pear Cocktail with a big pear wedge as garnish. Absolutely divine!

If, like the leaves, you have been waiting for fall to let loose, I hope I have inspired you with plenty of ideas for fall activities, events, and cooking.

Cheers to a happy, healthy home.
