    Clean Up Your Space
I don't remember where I first read it, but suffice it to say it's now become a critical part of my daily routine: Clean Up Your Work Space Before You Start. No, I'm not talking intense scrubbing, but I am talking simple tidying. Most importantly, CLEAR the space so that it's clutter-free. Your outer environment helps to trigger your inner mind;)

    Get a Good Desk Set-Up
If you like working at a desk (some folks don't - like me!), then make sure your desk is set up properly for you. I'm talking ergonomically here. Take a bit of time to learn about what it means to have a desk that sits at the right height, and then start to think about if the add-ons (your keyboard, your mouse) are also the right fit. Identifying what is best for you and attaining those things are key in building a great desk environment.
  • Don’t Forget Your To-Do List 3 of 7
    Don't Forget Your To-Do List
A to-do list is a key part of any day, and your workspace should have yours displayed prominently. Importantly, it's a good idea to remember some of the keys of a good to-do list. The experts say that LENGTHY never wins -- so keep yours as short as can be. Three to five items is ideal, and the amount you can fit on a post-it note is just about perfect.
  • Turn Off the Devices 4 of 7
    Turn Off the Devices
Yes, you need your computer. Yes, you need your (i)phone. But no, you don't need them all the time. There are likely many tasks you need to perform on a daily basis that do not require these items, and for which these items are actually just hindering your progress. Turn off the devices to focus and drive your best work.
  • Make it Pretty 5 of 7

Another tip? Add some pretty to your day by making your workspace a place that you're proud of -- because it's pretty! A flower? A nice vase? Dress it up.
  • Get a View 6 of 7
    Get a View
A great way to make your workspace better than it is now is to add a view. Even if you don't have a million dollar window in front of you, a beautiful picture of a cityscape would be a great bet.

To get your workspace great, you need to get your lighting right. Turn it up, turn it down, but make it work for you.
