Gift Ideas for Siblings: Toys That Encourage Cooperative PlayKristen Howerton
Having four kids who a relatively close in age means that our house needs to be stocked with toys that promote cooperative play. This is probably one of the biggest criteria I look for when shopping for new toys: Can they play with it TOGETHER? I’m hesitant to invest in toys that will result in multiple kids fighting over it, so I am all about toys that can be shared. Here are some of the favorite toys in my house that encourage the kids to play well together.
Little People Disney Princess Songs Palace 1 of 6My girls love this Little People Disney Princess Songs Palace. It's a great cooperative play castle with beloved Disney princesses in Little People sizes, with enough space so that both girls can comfortably sit and role-play.
Little People Wheelies Loops ‘n Swoops Amusement Park 2 of 6If you have younger kids, the Little People Wheelies Loops 'n Swoops Amusement Park is a fun toy for both genders. This roller-coaster play set has two side, so it's easy for more than one child to play.
Thomas & Friends: Take-n-Play The Great Quarry Climb 3 of 6My boys love playing with the Thomas & Friends: Take-n-Play The Great Quarry Climb. It is a portable play set that kids can set up on their own, so it involves both building and role-play.
Kid Tough Walkie Talkies 4 of 6They are simple but time-tested: Walkie Talkies are a great toy for cooperative play, and my kids can spend hours making up games with each other on the walkie talkie.
Fisher-Price Servin’ Surprises Kitchen & Table 5 of 6The Fisher-Price Servin' Surprises Kitchen & Table is an interactive play center that brings kitchen and food role-play to life. This is another toy that appeals to both genders, and my kids play with this more than any other toy we own.
Master Moves Mickey 6 of 6My kids usually end up in a puddle of laughter whenever they play with Master Moves Mickey. This computerized toy teaches children dance lessons, and it's a perfect accessory for family fun.
If you have multiple kids, I’d love to hear some of the toys that your kids enjoy together.
