I love the Olympics. I love the pomp and pageantry and live for the competition. The fact that it only happens every four years just adds to the excitement. I also love them because I’m an athlete at heart.
Growing up in Sacramento, California, I was a hurdler and high jumper. I guess there was a point when I thought I might compete beyond high school, and I did for a couple of years in college. I was good but not great and to compete on a level that requires greatness.
So I went on to study psychology and proceeded to get a job in televisions (How did that happen? Don’t ask). But beneath the Liz Claiborne suit beat the heart of a competitor. Now I’m a wife and mother who runs her business/blog/brand from her home, the suits having given way to yoga pants. Which brings me back to the Olympics.
I started thinking about the games and wondered about all the things I would NOT medal in in the Motherhood Olympics. Are you feelin’ me?
How about you, would you do any better?
