Heather’s Halloween History

By |

I am crazy for Halloween. I love any excuse to dress up in costume, so Halloween is my perfect holiday. I’ve been framing old photos from Halloweens past (I have a table full of these pictures on display in my house), and I thought it would be fun to share my favorites.

Coincidentally, also the last time I looked good in tights. Can you even handle my bowl haircut?

  • 1982 - Penguin

    1982 - Penguin

I wouldn't mind this costume now, it looks very slimming.

  • 1984 - Witch

    1984 - Witch

It's not very original, but it's pretty cute and GOOD GOD THOSE SHOES! I can't see anything else now.

  • 1985 - Hula Girl

    1985 - Hula Girl

I had a whole choreographed routine set to "Going to the Hukilau," that I still remember to this day. If you buy me enough drinks, I will show it to you.

  • 1986 - Cheerleader

    1986 - Cheerleader

I give my mom props for waiting until age seven to put me and my twin brother in matching costumes, although a cheerleader and a football player could not have been further from our personalities.

  • 1987 - Clown

    1987 - Clown

Obviously this picture was taken seconds before Superman defeated the evil clown.

  • 1995 - Scarlet O'Hara

    1995 - Scarlet O'Hara

Remember that scene in Gone With The Wind where Zorro rescues Scarlet from the Atlanta Fire? That's my favorite part of the movie.

  • 2001 - Surfer

    2001 - Surfer

Pro tip: If you wear a wetsuit anywhere but in the water, you will SWEAT YOUR BRAINS OUT. Ask me how I know.

  • 2002 - Nurse

    2002 - Nurse

At the party I wore this to, a guy came up to me and said, "Are you really a nurse, because I really am a doctor. Do you want me to take your temperature?" Worst pickup line ever. But I still let him buy me a drink, duh.

  • 2003 - Catholic School Girl

    2003 - Catholic School Girl

Perhaps the most generic couples costume ever.

  • 2004 - Britney Spears

    2004 - Britney Spears

    BRITNEY 4EVA!

  • 2005 - Gangster

    2005 - Gangster

I'm wearing a cowboy hat. It's like I didn't even try that year.

  • 2006 - Deal or No Deal Suitcase Girl

2006 - Deal or No Deal Suitcase Girl

For some reason, I couldn't talk Mike into shaving his head and going as Howie Mandel.

  • 2008 - The Flintstones

    2008 - The Flintstones

We threw a Halloween party for our daughter Madeline's first birthday, so obviously we really had to bring it when it came to our costumes.

  • 2010 - Glee

Annie's Sue Sylvester impression is uncanny.

Our family costume this year is amazing. I can’t wait!

Thank you for some other informative site. Where else could I get that type of info written in such a perfect approach? I’ve a challenge that I am simply now operating on, and I have been at the look out for such information.
