I love to read parenting blogs, so when I heard there were a number of blogs by celebrity moms I thought it’d be fun to check them out. Unfortunately, most of the celebrity mom websites that I found – such as Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop or Felicity Huffman’s What The Flicka? – are more like online magazines than the personal blogs I enjoy most. Luckily, after digging a little deeper I found four celebrity parent bloggers who are definitely worth reading.
The Cradle Chronicles by Jenna Von Oy
As her former “Blossom” co-star, Joey Lawrence, might say, “Whoa! Six has a mommy blog!” The thirty-five year old actress and country singer now lives in Nashville with her husband and first baby, a six-month-old girl named Gray. Jenna’s blog chronicles the new mom experience, whether it be by musing over which parent Gray most looks like, picking out Gray’s first Halloween costume, or sharing a baby-friendly recipe.
ediTORIal by Tori Spelling
The blog of this one-time “Beverly Hills, 90210” star and current reality TV fixture leans a little toward the online magazine style I complained about earlier, but maintains enough of Tori’s authentic voice to be well worth visiting. There are lots of cute photos of her kids, fun recipes, and relatable posts (like a recent one about how a rare night away from the kids ended with a wicked hangover).
Brooke Burke’s blog on Modern Women
The Dancing With The Stars’ blog on the Modern Mom website is an enjoyable and refreshingly sincere take on the challenges of mothering four children. Recently, though, Brooke has blogged about her diagnosis with thyroid cancer, and done so in her usual, thoughtful manner.
Eating Over The Sink with Samantha Bee and Allana Harkin
I didn’t have to go too far to find my absolute favorite celebrity mom blog, which is co-written by The Daily Show’s Samantha Bee and Dino Dan’s Allana Harkin. These women are both absolutely hilarious and will have you cracking up over how long it takes Samantha’s six-year-old to dress herself, and Allana’s “ability to bolt out of bed at 3 a.m. like an Olympic sprinter” the second she hears even the littlest cry from her kids.
