I’m constantly making things every single day, and I try to involve my daughter “Boo” in whatever she is able to do. I make as many of my art and craft supplies available to her as I can. My grandmother used to serve PB&J to me and my siblings on her best china because “if she didn’t use it on her most special guests, then who was it worth saving for?” That’s the approach I try to remember when it comes to my brand new Sharpies and the pricey art paper I tend to hoard: if I don’t let my daughter use it, then what was it worth saving for?
We’ve made so many things together over the last few years, and I had her pick a few of her favorites to share…there were so many, I’ll definitely have to do a second round. Maybe these will give you some ideas of special things to make with your kiddos that go beyond the typical “kid” crafts!
Make sure to snap photos of the process to for your family albums…they’ll love seeing what they made when they are older and looking back with their kids.
