Confession. I wash my hair once or twice a week. (And yes, I workout on a regular basis.) Do I hear someone ewwwwwwww-ing out there?
However, I’m willing to bet money that you would think my hair’s fresh as a daisy based on its appearance. How can this be, you ask? Well, let me break it down for you.
1. By washing your hair daily and stripping your scalp of oil, your body’s natural defense is to create more oil, thus ensuring a dirty look. Hello, cycle of greasy. (Stop the madness!)
2. You can stop this cycle. By taking a break from hair-washing for a few days, although you’ll definitely feel oily around the scalp, you’re telling your body to quit the overproduction of oil. It might take several weeks to reverse the cycle, but it does work. Hey, living proof right here.
Well, that’s great and all, but how do you mask your oily scalp in the meantime?
