How to Shock a Celebrity

I am honored that End 7 gave me a sneak peek of their latest video yesterday that shows the realities of neglected tropical diseases. You have probably heard about the really big issues that plague some of the world’s lowest income countries like systemic poverty, hunger, lack of education for children, lack of health services, woeful maternal health outcomes, child mortality and the list goes on. But did you know that many have to also contend with parasites and bacteria that severely hinder growth, development, personal health and take lives?

End 7, an advocacy initiative dedicated to raising the awareness, political will, and funding necessary to control neglected tropical diseases, recently showed global celebrities footage of how diseases such as lymphatic filariasis (elephantiasis), onchocerciasis (river blindness), hookworm, roundworm, whipworm, trachoma, and schistosomiasis (snail fever) ravage bodies. Can you watch the end?

While the footage of real people’s lives is shocking to these British celebs and to me as well frankly, billions of people have these parasites and bacteria living in their bodies as you read this and as I write this. That’s real! But, this can be changed! How?

A mere 50 cents can change a person’s life for a year and keep these diseases far from their bodies.
